This page explains how we make the Loan Guides on this website: who publishes them, where the facts come from, how often we review them, how we fix mistakes and how Modern Lending Solutions is paid.

Who publishes our guides

Guides are published by the Modern Lending Solutions editorial team, under the team name. We do not use made up author names, photos or credentials. If a named expert reviews a guide in the future, the guide will say so and name that person.

We use software tools, including AI writing tools, to help research and draft. Before a guide is published, every fact, number and rule is checked against the linked primary source.

Sources

  • Facts come from primary sources only: federal regulators such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and the Federal Reserve, and state regulators and state law.
  • We do not rely on other blogs, lender marketing or comparison sites for facts.
  • Each guide links to its sources in the text and lists them at the end.
  • Every number is shown with its math, and examples state their assumptions.

Review cycle

Each guide shows a "last reviewed" date. We review every guide at least every 6 months, and sooner when a rule or a source changes. A review checks each source link, each number and each rule against the current source.

Corrections

Found an error? Email support@modernlendingsolutions.com and tell us the page and the problem. We check every report against the source. When a fact was wrong, we fix the guide and update its review date. When a correction changes a number or a rule, we add a short note at the end of the guide saying what changed.

Independence

  • Guides are general information, not financial or legal advice.
  • We do not name, rank or recommend lenders in our guides.
  • Lenders do not write, pay for, review or approve our guides.
  • We never promise approval, a rate or a loan amount.

Not a lender, and how we are paid

Modern Lending Solutions is not a lender, loan broker or agent for any lender or loan broker, and does not make credit decisions. Any compensation we receive is paid by participating lenders, only for advertising services. Compensation does not change what our guides say.
